Mortgages Rise To Highest Rates Since 2008

Updated: Dec 23, 2022

According to the data released by Freddie Mac this week, the 30-year fixed mortgage rate is up to 6.02%, the highest since 2008.

Consequently, monthly mortgage payments have increased about 60% compared to one year ago, as stated by the NAR.

The Fed will meet again next week and another rate hike of .75% (75 bps) is expected, which will affect mortgage rates even further.
